A milestone in the military history of Bhutan, with the first cohort of women recruits being trained in the Royal Bhutan Army.
151 men and 150 women have completed their yearlong training at the MTC and will now be posted to the various wings of the RBA across the country.
The RBA did hire women officers before but mostly in medical and other fields.
The new cohort will also take on combat roles.
