The program is known as the DV Lottery (Green Card) It makes a limited number of immigrant visas available every year to people meeting certain eligibility requirements.
*These include being a citizen of a country with a low immigration rate to the United States.(Bhutanese have 100% chances to qualify for dv lottery because very limited numbers immigrants.)
*Having graduated from high school and above.
High School Education:
A high school education means successful completion of a formal course of elementary and secondary education comparable to a 12-year course. (qualifications for applicants-high School and Above)
Work Experience:
Must have two years of experience in the last five years, having qualifying work experience.
DV lottery is totally random process of selection. Bias, prejudice, racism, class, wealth, political views, status, and other unfavorable conditions have to be weeded out of the selection processes, (No favoritism.)The lottery is designed to select applications from all of the applications that are processed into its system. There is “NO” first come, first served. All candidates who have filed applications must undergo pre-screening through their applications for entry in the lottery. All applications must be filed electronically to be accepted in the process.
Applicants do not need to summit any documents not even passport for October, You need passport size photo for all participants (You, your wife and kids)
Passport size photo requirement:
* Must be in color.
* Head between 1 inch and 1 3/8 inches (22 mm and 35 mm) or 50% and 69% of the image's total height from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head.
* Taken within the last 6 months to reflect your current appearance.
* Taken in front of a plain white or off-white background.
*Taken in full-face view directly facing the camera.
*With a neutral facial expression and both eyes open.
*Taken in clothing that you normally wear on a daily basis.
*Do not wear a hat or head covering that obscures the hair or hairline, unless worn daily for a religious purpose. Your full face must be visible, and the head covering must not cast any shadows on your face.
* Eyeglasses are no longer allowed in new visa photos.
The entry period for the DV-2025 Diversity Visa Program between October 5, 2023 and November 8, 2023. (The registration date for the dv Lottery may change each year.)
